The Grid

Jordan's Investment Advisors are compensated based on gross production. Gross production is comprised of Canadian and US agency commission, corporate finance new issue commission and broker warrant profit less related ticket charges.

Equity

Jordan encourages all employees to purchase equity in the firm and participate in the firm's growth going forward. We offer immediate, direct equity buy-in and an employee stock option program. Please do not hesitate to discuss participation details further with Mark Redcliffe.

Registrations

Jordan will pay for an IA's equity sales registration in their home province (either British Columbia, Alberta or Ontario). Additional provinces are borne by the IA.

Communications

Local and North American long distance is covered by Jordan. Overseas long distance is the responsibility of the IA. Open to discussion with senior management should it be determined that there is a justifiable revenue stream generated. Access to incoming client calls from a firm-wide continental US, Hawaii, and Mexico toll free line routed through first available Jordan switch board operator. Also, Jordan offers our IA's the ability to participate in a standardized Blackberry or cellular phone package through Rogers Wireless however, all initial set-up costs, monthly user fees and contract obligations are the direct responsibility of the IA.

An example of some of the package details include:

  • Data - 300MB / Month
  • Voice - 250 Minutes / Month, with free evenings and weekends
  • Airtime over 250 minutes: Current negotiated rate with Rogers is $0.10/Minute

Offices and Assistants

A private office with two desks will be provided to IA's worth gross production of greater than or equal to $750,000 CDN

At gross production of greater than or equal to $650,000 CDN, Jordan will contribute $32,000 towards the salary of one licensed Sales Assistant. At gross production of greater than or equal to $1,000,000 CDN, Jordan will provide the same IA with an additional $32,000 contribution towards the salary of a second licensed assistant. Quote services and health care benefits will be made available to these assistants but the cost will be re-claimed from the IA.

Business Development Account ("BDA")

Jordan believes BDA's are an effective tool for promoting an IA's business with pre-tax dollars on CRA eligible expenses. You may elect to have Jordan's payroll department take either a fixed percentage of your gross commissions or a fixed dollar amount.

We encourage all IA's to seek further guidance from our Operations or Payroll departments on how to implement a BDA and a list of the currently eligible CRA expenses.

Stationary and Mailings

Jordan believes in reducing our environmental footprint. Thus electronic communication is encouraged when regulatory permissible. Jordan will pay up to $50/Month towards monthly IA mailings.

Parking

Underground parking is available in our Vancouver office building at the following rates (As of May 2010):

  • Reserved Space - $400/Month + taxes = $508.20
  • Random Space - $275/Month + taxes = $349.39

Recruiting Bonuses

Jordan is committed to building the best firm in the Street. Thus, if a Jordan employee is solely responsible for recruiting an IA to Jordan, Jordan will pay the employee a recruitment bonus up to 3% of the incoming IA's net annual production earned during the first full year of employment. If an employee is jointly responsible with other employees for recruiting an IA to Jordan, the recruitment bonus shall be evenly divided amongst all employees responsible for the recruitment.
